When I was 16, my grandfather sat down with me and showed me his investment portfolio. I remember being fascinated by the idea that money invested wisely could grow over decades. More than anything, he helped me understand the value of time and how decisions made early can have an impact years down the road. That conversation stayed with me.

My path from there wasn’t exactly a straight line. I earned a degree in mechanical engineering from Liberty University and went on to help build and operate several businesses across construction, real estate, and related industries. Along the way, I gained firsthand experience with many of the financial decisions that come with owning a business—from managing finances and investor relationships to investing in real estate and deciding where and how to put capital to work.

Like most entrepreneurs, I’ve learned plenty through both successes and mistakes. Those experiences have given me a greater appreciation for thoughtful financial decision-making and for how closely our businesses, investments, personal finances, and long-term goals are connected.

Even as my career took me in different directions, that early interest in investing never really went away. Over time, I found myself continually drawn back to financial planning and advising, and eventually came to see it as the direction I wanted to pursue with a greater sense of purpose.

My wife, Whitney, and I live in Lynchburg with our son, Judah. Outside of work, we enjoy hiking, exercising, spending time outdoors, and being involved in our church and community.
